Sunday Morning Worship
Each Sunday morning the PHCC congregation gathers for joy-filled worship at 10:30 a.m. in the Sanctuary. Masks are optional for worshiping in the sanctuary in-person. The service also can be live-streamed on YouTube or viewed there as a recording; see the Worship Bulletin tab to view the Order of Service.
Our service is a time of prayer, hymn singing, reading of Bible scriptures, all centered around the sermon and congregational response through financial offering and dedication to service in the world. Worship is enhanced each week by a choral anthem presented by our choir.
Our worship is led by both pastor and lay members of the congregation. Musical accompaniment regularly includes organ and piano, and occasional musical gifts (e.g., violin, solo vocal, guitar, recorder) offered by church members and friends. During worship, the pastor leads congregational prayer time when joys and concerns of church members and guests are lifted up. Communion is celebrated the first Sunday of each month and is open to all people without exception.
What to Expect
When you come to our community church on a Sunday, you will be welcomed by our greeters and given a bulletin that describes the order of our service. Wear what makes you feel comfortable. Children are welcome to attend the service.
We strive to make our congregation accessible to all. We have installed a hearing loop for those wearing hearing aids, and we provide headsets to bring amplified sound directly to you if have hearing challenges. Our sanctuary has no steps and is readily accessible. We have parking spaces marked for those needing accessible parking. For anyone wanting assistance getting from their car to the sanctuary, we have a wheelchair available.
Before the service, there is time for fellowship, coffee, tea and refreshments. The service starts at 10:30 a.m. The service includes a welcome of visitors and guests, announcements, music, readings, prayers, a sermon by our pastor, an offering, and a benediction.
