Rev. Houston HallInterim Minister

    Rev. Houston Hall has accepted the Call to serve as Pleasant Hill Community Church’s Interim Minister starting in January 2022.

    Rev. Hall is a trained Intentional Interim Minister and has been serving churches in that role since 2009. He is currently completing his service at Grace Immanuel UCC in Louisville, KY. Prior to that he served as Interim at seven UCC congregations in Kentucky and Ohio. He is a member of the UCC Southeast Conference.

    Rev. Hall received his BA degree at Carson-Newman College in TN, where he studied religion, speech, theater, history, and education. He has an M.Div. in Religion Education from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY. He prepared for Interim Ministry at the Center for Congregational Health in Winston-Salem, NC, in 2008.

    Rev. Hall’s faith journey has carried him from the Southern Baptist tradition into which he was born into the traditions of the Episcopal Church and United Methodist Church and now the UCC.

    Much of his earlier career was as an Associate Minister with a focus on Education and Administration. He felt called and prepared to become an Intentional Interim Minister (IIM) with the belief that one of the primary roles of an IIM is to teach and facilitate the process of mourning as well as to assist a congregation find a new vision.

    Rev. Hall has two daughters, both living in the greater Atlanta area, and he is “Papi” to two wonderful grandsons and one granddaughter. He has a home in the mountains of North Carolina.
