Pleasant Hill Community Church was host a group of 34 visitors from Germany
Pleasant Hill Community Church was host a group of 34 visitors from Germany for an overnight visit July 27. The group leader is the Rev. Barbara Kershner Daniel, Senior Pastor of Evangelical Reformed UCC Church in Frederick, Maryland. The group will include 18 German youth and their 6 German adult advisors as they return from a trip to Memphis, Tennessee. The group arrived about 2 pm left after breakfast on July 28th.
The group had several options for their Thursday afternoon time here. They could choose a visit to Upland Village’s; Aquatic Center for a dip in the pool, Heritage Hall for ping pong, or exercise on and a couple of stationary bikes. Some also took in the area with a visit to Pioneer Hall, the Military Memorial Museum in Crossville that includes a display about the POW camp that housed German soldiers during WWII.
As you can see there was lively conversation during Thursday’s dinner, at the recently renovated community House. A few church members shared about their lives, ministries, commitment to the work of justice and peace as well as how they have found ways to live out their values throughout the stages of their lives.
